SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's soccer team added another chapter to its history Thursday night, defeating Justice University 1-0 at Spirit Field.
The victory not only marked another home triumph and the first win of the season for the Spirit, but it also delivered the 400th goal in program history, a milestone that shows how far the team has come since the program began.
The lone score came in the 36th minute, when freshman
Rachel Greksa found the back of the net.
On the defensive side, OUAZ stayed disciplined and denied Justice any real chances to equalize, securing the team's first shutout of the season. The Spirit dominated the pace of play throughout, peppering the Justice defense with 31 shots. OUAZ's persistence on the attack, paired with a strong defensive effort, ensured the match stayed firmly in their control.
