Spirit Come Up Short in GSAC Semifinal Overtime Loss

Prescott, ARIZ.- The Spirit played a hard-fought game in the GSAC Semifinals, but ultimately came up short in a 1-0 loss in overtime to #15 Embry-Riddle (14-2-3 Overall, 12-1-1 Conference). The loss officially puts an end to the Spirit's season, and sends ERAU to the GSAC Championship, where they will play The Master's.

The defenses came played strong for both teams throughout regulation as both teams ended the first 90 minutes in a 0-0 tie. The Spirit would end regulation with six shots and nine saves, while the Eagles would end regulation with 19 shots and two saves.

Embry-Riddle would score in overtime with a goal in the 92nd minute of play Samantha Wright, assisted by Aubrie Labno. This would result in the end of the defensive battle, as the Spirit would lose the game 1-0 in OT.

While the Spirit came up short of their ultimate goal, we would like to congratulate our OUAZ WSOC team on putting together another great season.

All of us at OUAZ WSOC and OUAZ Athletics would also like to thank those that supported our Spirit all season long!
