Silvis, Ill.- The OUAZ Men's Golf team concluded a remarkable season under first-year head coach Brady Barrett with an impressive showing at the 73rd Annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championship, held at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. Competing against the best programs in the nation, the Spirit secured an 8th-place finish out of a competitive field of 29 teams.
OUAZ was one of just 15 teams to make the cut to compete on the final day of the championship, demonstrating resilience and consistency through challenging weather conditions that included rain and gusty winds. The Spirit finished the tournament at +27 over par on the par-852 course.
The team's success was anchored by outstanding individual performances. Nick Erickson led the way, finishing in a tie for 9th overall with a steady +1 over par across three rounds, earning him a well-deserved spot on the All-Tournament Team. Grant Greazel was not far behind, carding a +3 over par to secure a tie for 15th place and joining Erickson on the All-Tournament Team.
Kolby Shackelford contributed a solid performance, finishing in a tie for 49th at +11 over par, while Gustav Sandstrom placed in a tie for 63rd with a +13 score. Rounding out the lineup was Hayden Hah, who finished 71st overall with a +20 performance.
This strong showing at nationals caps off a memorable 2024–2025 campaign for the Spirit, which included a top-five national ranking and a championship run in the GSAC Tournament.
With the conclusion of the national championship, the 2024–2025 OUAZ Athletics season officially comes to a close.
