SURPRISE, Ariz. -- OUAZ Baseball (13-22-1) heads into this weekend with a three-game series set with cross-town rival Arizona Christian.

The Firebirds have won nine games in a row against the Spirit, with the last OUAZ win dating back to April of 2021. ACU won the last matchup 8-0 in February of last season.

OUAZ is heading into the home stretch of the season with eight games remaining on the schedule. They will have just one more game away from Surprise Stadium, on April 25, against New Mexico State.

The Spirit dropped a close mid-week game against Embry Riddle on Tuesday, 13-11. They posted 11 runs on 16 hits but it wasn't enough.

Game one on Friday will start at 2 p.m. with game two starting shortly after the conclusion of first contest. Saturday's game will being at 6 p.m.
