Box Score SURPRISE, Ariz. - The University of Ottawa Arizona baseball team blanked the Park-Gilbert Buccaneers Friday evening by the score of 4-0. They move to 1-0 on the season, and will play Park-Gilbert once again tomorrow morning.
This marks back-to-back years in which OUAZ has opened their season with a win at home against the Bucs. Last year, they won by a score of 10-2.
With this win, the Spirit own an all-time winning record of 5-4 against their in-state foe. They also own a four-game winning streak overall, dating back to last season.
Spirit Standouts
Junior lefty
Connor Wilson took the bump Friday night and tossed six spectacular shutout innings, while striking out seven and only allowing four baserunners. He moves to 1-0 on the season.
Deon Reese knocked in the first runs of the game in the sixth inning when he slapped a triple down the left field line, to put OUAZ up 2-0.
Jacob Griffin was the only OUAZ player to record multiple hits, and tacked on an RBI as well.

Connor Wilson after his stellar outing, striking out both batters that he recorded for outs.
Trey Trimble closed out the game, striking out three batters and allowing just one hit in his two plus innings of work.
