Fallon Named Baseball Associate Head Coach

SURPRISE, Ariz. - OUAZ baseball head coach Tim Montez announced Wednesday the promotion of Jeff Fallon to Associate Head Coach. Fallon, the Spirit's most experienced assistant coach, has spent the past three seasons as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at OUAZ.

"I am extremely excited to see Coach Fallon promoted to Associate Head Coach. I appreciate our AD Kevin Steele and his blessing in making this happen," Montez commented. "Ever since I hired Jeff 3 years ago, he has invested 100 percent of himself into our university and, more importantly, our student-athletes. He has built strong relationships within our campus community and worked tirelessly with our Varsity and Developmental Programs in his role of Recruiting Coordinator."

Fallon added, "I am extremely honored and thankful to be named the Associate Head Coach at OUAZ. I've always felt incredibly blessed to be coaching college baseball, but having been a Surprise resident for more than 26 years, it is much more rewarding to do what I love right here in this growing city. The trust and mentorship Coach Montez has placed in me over the last three years has helped mold me into a more focused servant-leader while strengthening my faith. I will always be grateful to have had the opportunity to coach alongside Monty and to be a part of this incredible Ottawa family. Special thanks to our athletic leadership, Kevin Steele, Brittney Kellar, Josh Fisher, and Alexandra Blaser, for their patience with me and their never-ending guidance while continuing to help lead this baseball program."

A Surprise resident of 23 years, Fallon has tremendous ties to the community. His wife, Natasha, has been a teacher for more than 20 years in the Dysart School District, and their three boys (Koty, Tanner, and Hunter) all attended and participated in all city sports in Surprise. Each of Fallon's sons has had the opportunity to play college baseball while earning their degrees. Koty was selected in the MLB Amateur Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres in 2019.

Fallon has worked as a professional scout with the Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles Angels. In his career, Fallon has coached multiple Major League Baseball Players, including Aaron Altherr, Kole Calhoun, Doug Mathis, Brad Mills, Dusty Peterson, Eric Sogard, and Donnie Veal, among others.

Fallon has had the unique opportunity to coach and be involved in elementary, junior high, high school, college, and professional baseball over his 30-year baseball career. Not only with his own children but has personally coached and guided players from age 10 to professional baseball. Motivating, teaching, and developing players to succeed in the game (and life) has been a personal mission for 30 years.

Fallon played and coached at Southern Vermont College. In 1989 he was the youngest head coach in the nation.
