SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The second day of its weekend series at No. 6 Westmont saw the OUAZ baseball team drop both games at Russell Carr Field. The day began with Westmont winning 5-2 and then ended with the Warriors winning 6-4.

With all road conference games now complete, OUAZ sits at 14-21 overall and 6-13 in the GSAC.

GAME 1: Westmont 5, OUAZ 2
OUAZ took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third on a two-run single from Nathan Tarver, but Westmont responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning and never looked back.

The Spirit recorded nine hits but went 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position and only had two base runners after the fourth inning.

Tarver joined Adrian Salazar and Griffin Hagen with two hits in the game. Casey Downs had a double for the team's lone extra-base hit.

Gage Johnson suffered the loss by allowing four runs on eight hits in six innings. Tanner Fallon worked two innings and allowed one run on two hits.

GAME 2: Westmont 6, OUAZ 4
In a back-and-forth contest, it was Westmont that delivered late to earn the win. Trailing 3-1 into the fifth, OUAZ scored three times to take a 4-3 lead. Tarver delivered the key blow with a two-run triple.

Westmont would tie the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth and take the lead with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

OUAZ again totaled nine hits but had just one base runner in the final two innings. Tarver also had a double in the game, and Nicholas Lustig picked up a pair of hits and an RBI.

Anthony Quattrocchi allowed four runs on seven hits in four innings. Juan Navarrete suffered the loss after giving up one run (unearned) in 1.2 innings.

The Spirit now returns home, where they will play 14 of the season's final 15 games, including the three GSAC series, as they try to climb into the top six of the GSAC standings to qualify for the postseason tournament.
