OUAZ Shutout in Menlo Finale

ATHERTON, Calif. – The OUAZ baseball team was shutout by Menlo in the final game of its series at Menlo on Saturday. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was rained out.

OUAZ (13-17, 5-10 GSAC) fell behind early as Menlo (10-16-1, 5-14) hit solo home runs in the bottom of the first and second innings. The Oaks added two runs in the fourth for the game's final tally.

Jacob Griffin posted two of the Spirit's four hits in the game, with Deon Reese and TD Walker adding the other two.

OUAZ left runners in scoring position in the second, third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Gage Johnson (1-3) suffered the loss after allowing four runs on four hits in 3.1 innings. Josiah Dominguez worked 4.2 innings without allowing a run.

The Spirit will travel to Prescott on Tuesday to face Embry-Riddle at 3 p.m.
