Bohn Named First Team All-American

OUAZ football punter Austin Bohn was named an AFCA NAIA First Team All-American when the annual teams were announced on Thursday. It is the fourth time Bohn has been selected to one of the two teams and his second time on the first team.

A native of Erie, Colo., Bohn punted 37 times for an average of 41.1 yards per punt, where he was fourth in the NAIA. He forced eight fair catches with 15 punts ending inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Bohn added eight punts of 50-plus yards with a long of 70 against Louisiana Christian.

Bohn is the only player in OUAZ history to earn four All-America honors. He was named to the second team in 2018 and 2019 before making the first team in the spring 2021 season. He is a three-time Sooner Special Teams Player of the Year – including this season – while being named to the SAC All-Conference First Team four times.

For his career, Bohn had 40 of his 152 punts (26.2 percent) go for at least 50 yards, and his 49.2 yards per punt average is second-best in NAIA history.
