Two of OUAZ Football's most impactful standouts were recognized on the national stage this week, as quarterback Luke Giron and defensive lineman Corey Floyd Jr. were named NAIA Third Team All-Americans by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). The selections highlight the individual excellence that helped power the Spirit to their fifth Sooner Athletic Conference championship and a top-20 national ranking during the 2025 season.
QB Luke Giron – NAIA Third Team All-American
Giron's All-America honor adds to an already decorated year in which he was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference recognition. Across nine games, he delivered one of the most efficient and explosive passing seasons in the NAIA, throwing for 2,046 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, posting a 54% completion percentage and an impressive 15.4 yards per completion. His production extended beyond the air, as he added 359 rushing yards and four touchdowns, giving OUAZ a reliable dual-threat presence behind center.
Giron finished the season first in the SAC in passing yards per game, passing touchdowns, touchdown-to-interception ratio, and quarterback efficiency, posting a league-best 147.4 efficiency rating. His ability to stretch the field, maintain control of the offense, and elevate the Spirit in key moments was central to OUAZ's 41.2 points per game—ranking 13th nationally—and a conference-leading 411.7 total yards per contest.
DL Corey Floyd Jr. – NAIA Third Team All-American
Floyd's selection reflects his dominant impact on one of the top defensive units in the NAIA. A First Team All-SAC honoree, Floyd put together a disruptive and highly productive season on the edge, finishing with 48 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks across nine games. He added a pass breakup, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery, consistently forcing offenses to account for his presence and altering game plans with his ability to generate pressure and penetrate the backfield.
His play helped lead an OUAZ defense that ranked fifth in the NAIA in points allowed per game (14.6) and served as a major reason why the Spirit controlled the line of scrimmage throughout conference play. Floyd's length, motor, and versatility made him one of the most complete defensive linemen in the SAC, and his national recognition reflects the high standard he set each week.
Giron and Floyd now join a growing list of OUAZ players to receive national recognition, further solidifying the program's reputation for developing high-level performers capable of excelling on the biggest stages.
