OUAZ Draws No. 2 Morningside in First Round of NAIA Football Championship Series

OUAZ will open its second appearance in the NAIA Football Championship Series in Sioux City, Iowa, on Saturday when they face No. 2 Morningside at Elwood Olsen Stadium. OUAZ learned its destination as the NAIA released the 16-team field and first-round pairings on Sunday evening.

The teams will kickoff at 12 p.m. (CST) / 11 a.m. (Arizona) on November 20. Complete information on tickets, live streaming and statistics, and more will be available later this week.

The Spirit earned its way into the tournament by winning the Sooner Athletic Conference championship. They finished 8-1 this season both overall and in conference play and were ranked No. 14 in the final regular season edition of the NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top 25 Poll released on Sunday.

Morningside completed a 10-0 regular season and won its 11th straight Great Plains Athletic Conference championship. The Mustangs will be making the program's 18th appearance in the NAIA FCS, and they have gone 62-2 record and won two national championships since the 2017 season.

Saturday's meeting will be the first all-time between the two programs.
