Surprise, Ariz. — OUAZ Athletics is excited to announce the schedule for the Spirit flag football program, marking the first season in program history. As OUAZ launches its newest sport, the Spirit will compete in a challenging slate that blends home contests, road tests, tournament play, and postseason opportunities in the GSAC.
The historic season begins at home on February 27 as OUAZ hosts Baker, officially opening the flag football era for the Spirit. OUAZ then heads on the road to face Nevada State on March 2 before returning home to take on Benedictine Mesa on March 4.
Early March features extended tournament action, as the Spirit travel to the Redlands Tournament from March 5–7, gaining valuable experience against multiple opponents in a high-volume competitive setting. Following the tournament, OUAZ resumes conference play with a road matchup at Arizona Christian on March 11.
The Spirit remain on the road for a demanding stretch, facing Benedictine Mesa (Mar. 14), Simpson (Mar. 18), La Sierra (Mar. 18), and Hope International (Mar. 19) as the program continues to build momentum and identity in its first season.
OUAZ returns home late in March to host Arizona Christian on March 24, followed by another home contest against Nevada State on March 26, closing out the regular-season home schedule.
April brings a major highlight as OUAZ hosts the OUAZ Jamboree on April 8–9, welcoming Hope International, Arizona Christian, La Sierra, Benedictine Mesa, and Simpson for a series of showcase matchups. The Spirit will face Hope International (Apr. 8), La Sierra (Apr. 8), and Simpson (Apr. 9) during the event.
The inaugural season concludes with a hope at postseason play at the GSAC Tournament on April 16–17, where the Spirit will look to make a statement in their first-ever conference championship appearance.
With a mix of home games, competitive tournaments, and conference battles, the 2026 OUAZ flag football season marks the beginning of a new chapter for Spirit Athletics and sets the foundation for the future of the program.
