Surprise, Ariz. — The Spirit faced a tough challenge on the road, falling to the Arizona Christian Firestorm in conference action.
Arizona Christian came out strong in the opening quarter, striking first with a touchdown to take a 7–0 lead. The Firestorm continued to build momentum in the second quarter, adding 13 more points to extend their advantage heading into halftime.
The third quarter saw more of the same as the Firestorm offense remained difficult to slow down, putting up another 13 points to stay firmly in control of the contest. Arizona Christian closed out the game with 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Despite the deficit, the Spirit continued to compete and found the end zone late in the game. Bryce Watson connected with Mae Enriquez for a touchdown pass, giving OUAZ its six points of the night and providing a bright spot in the final quarter.
