The three-time Sooner Athletic Conference Champion OUAZ Football team will look to add another trophy in 2024 as they return as defending co-champions. The Spirit will play five of its nine games in Surprise, and will make trips to Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
OUAZ will play three of its first four games at Spirit Field, all coming in the month of September. The Spirit will host fellow 2023 SAC Co-Champions Texas Wesleyan on September 7, then welcome in Texas College on September 21, and wrap up the month in the West Valley against Nelson University on September 28.
Wayland Baptist will be the first team to host OUAZ, as the Spirit will visit Plainview, Texas on October 5. OUAZ will get back to Spirit Field the next week, as they host first-year program Simpson on October 12.
The Spirit will finish the final two weeks of November on the road, as they visit Arkansas Baptist College on October 19, then head to the Bayou State for a showdown with Louisiana Christian on October 26. OUAZ and Louisiana Christian played a thriller last October 21, where the Spirit scored 17 second-quarter points and pitched a fourth quarter shutout on defense to take home a much-needed 27-24 victory in Surprise.
Senior Day is slated for November 2, where OUAZ will wrap up the home portion of its regular season against Langston. The Spirit will end the regular season on November 16 when they visit Oklahoma Panhandle State.
All home games at Spirit Field in Surprise are set for 7:00 p.m. AZT. Season ticket renewal information, as well as information on how to purchase new season tickets and individual tickets, will be released in the coming weeks.
