VERRADO, ARIZ. – In the last event of the 2024 Fall season, the 11th-ranked OUAZ men's golf team put together the best team round of the Firestorm Fall Invitational to earn second place in an event filled with talent. Four players finished in the top 16 of the individual leaderboard, with a pair of top-10 finishers for OUAZ.
Kolby Shackelford finished in fourth, just four shots away from the individual championship. Shackelford carried the way he played in the final round of Monday into Tuesday morning, shooting matching -1 in those rounds.
Nick Erickson fired up the individual leaderboard on Tuesday, shooting two-under to finish tied for 10th. Grant Greazel finished one shot behind Erickson, and posted +2 in each of the final two rounds.
Gustav Sandstrom used a solid first round to finish 16th, helping the Spirit solidify its spot in second on Tuesday. Zach Frye finished 23rd, and shot better with each round he played in the tournament.
