The OUAZ men's water polo team went a perfect 4-0 at the Arizona State Series this past weekend.

The weekend started with a win over Arizona State University's (A) team by a 14-9 score. Three different Spirit players came away hat tricks in the game.Â

Roland Mantecon and
Travis Alvarado all scored three times in the game. Alvarado also had three assists as did
Charles Campbell. Mantecon and
Will Farrier were thieves in the water each notching three steals. The first and third quarters were big for the Spirit outscoring ASU 5-0 in the opening frame and 5-1 coming out of halftime.

In the second game of the weekend, the Spirit doubled up Scottsdale Water Polo Club 18-9. Mantecon scored four times and handed out three assists. Alvarado had a hat trick and dished four assists.

Closing out the weekend against Westcliff University, OUAZ picked up another victory by a 18-14 score.Â
Tamas Misky had one-third of the team's total goal output. Alvarado chipped in another hatty, while
Ian Tauer scored twice and had four assists.

The team will travel to the University of Redlands to take on both Saddleback College and the host Bulldogs next Thursday. The Saddleback game will be at 3:00 and the game against Redlands three hours later.

After the three-way matchup, the team will participate in the Gary Troyer Invite. The tournament is co-hosted by Occidental College and Pomona-Pitzer College on Sept. 29 and 30.
