Game Recap: Men's Water Polo |

Spirit Split in Colorado

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The OUAZ men's water polo team split its two games at the Rare Air Invitational on Sunday. OUAZ fell to Biola 13-10 to start the day and then came back for a 21-7 win over LIU to complete the weekend.

OUAZ ends the weekend with a 4-8 record.

Biola used a run of six straight goals during the second and third quarters to turn a 4-4 game into a 10-4 lead. The Spirit would score five of the game's final seven goals but couldn't get closer than 12-10 with 2:26 to play.

Johnathan Wong, Arnaud Parmentier, and Travis Alvarado scored two goals apiece in the loss. Clay Gyde recorded five saves.

OUAZ dominated the first half of the game against LIU and used a 10-0 run to open a 14-1 lead by halftime. The Spirit attempted 33 shots in the win.

Wong scored six goals to lead the 10 different players that scored for the Spirit. Wong and Ian Tauer had two assists apiece.

The Spirit will head to California next week to play at Redlands on Thursday before playing four times at the Gary Troyer Tournament.
