Water Polo Falls Twice in California

| Box Score 2 ORANGE, Calif. – The OUAZ men's water polo team began its new season with two losses on Saturday in California. OUAZ started the day with a 12-10 loss at Saddleback College. The Spirit then fell 14-9 at Chapman.

Andrew Marshall scored three goals, while Johnathan Wong and Travis Alvarado had two apiece against Saddleback.

Down five early in the fourth quarter, the Spirit scored three straight to get within two with 4:27 remaining. However, neither team scored the rest of the game.

In the Chapman game, Roland Mantecon scored at the 4:40 mark of the third quarter to give the Spirit a 6-5 lead. Chapman then scored the game's ensuing four goals and nine of the final 11 to secure the win.

Alvarado added another three goals with two apiece from Mantecon and Charles Campbell.

OUAZ returns to California next weekend for six games, including four at the Inland Empire Classic.
