Women Open Conference Play with 4-1 Win

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's tennis team picked up a 4-1 win over Westcliff on Friday afternoon to start Golden State Athletic Conference play.
 
OUAZ (4-4, 1-0 GSAC) earned the doubles points with a 6-1 win from Giulia Leali and Antonia Kostoff in the No. 2 dual. The Spirit started with a doubles win via default.
 
Johanna Sotelo-Mena earned the Spirit a point with a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 2 singles and then Kostoff won the No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-3. That was enough to clinch the match as OUAZ also started singles with a default point.
 
OUAZ returns to action on Saturday when they host Hope International at the Surprise Tennis Complex at 11 a.m.
