Spirit Earn 6-1 Win over CMU

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The OUAZ men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 win over NCAA D2 Colorado Mesa on Friday afternoon at the Paseo Tennis Center.

OUAZ (2-0) scored the doubles points with 6-3 wins from Bryce Bodak and Liam Spiers in the No. 2 match and Goor Adiv and Gianmarco Pitotti in the No. 3 match.

With Pitotti winning the No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-1 and Michael Loyd picking up a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 5 singles, that allowed Bodak to clinch the win for the Spirit with his 6-1, 7-5 win in the No. 3 singles.

OUAZ also got a 6-2, 6-1 win from Spiers in the No. 2 singles, and Austin Todd won the No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

The Spirit will test themselves against another NCAA D2 opponent on Saturday when they face Western New Mexico at 4 p.m. at the Paseo Tennis Center.
