OUAZ Places 14 on All-Conference Team; Bohn Special Teams Player of the Year

The Sooner Athletic Conference announced that 14 players from OUAZ have been named to the 2022 SAC Football All-Conference Teams and Austin Bohn is the Special Teams Player of the Year.

OUAZ finished its season with a 7-2 record and won the SAC title for the second straight year and the third time in the past four seasons. The Spirit placed six players on both the first and second teams.

Bohn, a graduate from Erie, Colo., was awarded the top special teams player award for the third time in his career. The three-time AFCA-NAIA All-American led the Sooner with an average of 41.1 yards per punt. He had five punts of 50-plus yards with a long of 70 while forcing eight fair catches and having 15 end inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Bohn was also named First Team All-SAC, becoming the first player in program history to be named to the first team five times.

Elijah Boyd-Volakis was named to the Sooner First Team at offensive line for the third consecutive season. The graduate from Kenosha, Wisc., is the third player in program history to make the first team three times. Boyd-Volakis started on the OUAZ offensive line for the past 26 games dating back to the 2019 season.

Brandon Tomerlin Jr. picked up a second straight First Team All-Sooner selection at linebacker after making 69 tackles to rank sixth in the conference. The senior from Superior, Ariz., was fourth in the league with nine sacks and seventh with 16 tackles-for-loss. Tomerlin recorded at least one TFL in every game and added a forced fumble and pass breakup.

Eric Holman was selected First Team All-Sooner at defensive back, where the junior from Beaumont, Texas, was fifth in the conference with four interceptions. Holman finished the season with 31 tackles, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and an 80-yard touchdown on a block field goal recovery. This is his second all-conference selection and first to the first team.

Devone Humphrey was named to the first team at wide receiver. He finished fifth in the SAC with 34 receptions while gaining 508 yards with three touchdowns. The senior Newport News, Va. native, had a pair of 100-yard receiving games and made at least three catches in a game six times. This is his first all-conference selection.

Zach Woltz was the sixth OUAZ player named to the Sooner First Team and the second at offensive line. A junior from Las Vegas, Woltz earned his first all-conference honor despite playing in only five games. He becomes the seventh different OUAZ offensive lineman to make the Sooner's first team.

The Sooner All-Conference Second Team featured Spirit running back Kristopher Ewens and offensive lineman Harvey Gonzalez. Ewens was awarded his second all-conference nod after being chosen to the first team in 2019. Gonzalez earned his first all-conference selection in his first season as a starter.

On the defensive side, OUAZ had defensive lineman Seth Ham and defensive back Brajhon Crenshaw named to the second team, each earning their first all-conference honor. Ham was third on the team with 37 tackles while recording 11 tackles-for-loss and 4.5 sacks. Crenshaw had 15 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, one interception, one breakup, and a fumble recovery.

Kicker Landon Reeves and kick returner Roman Sahagun also made the All-Sooner Second Team. Reeves finished with 79 points after making 13 of 17 field goals and all 40 of his PAT chances. Sahagun was second in the SAC, averaging 29.2 yards per kick return.
