WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Ottawa University Arizona men's and women's track and field team finished their outdoor season with the NCCAA National Championship Saturday hosted by Grace College. Four athletes competed in five events today following impressive performances from yesterday.
The first event of the day for OUAZ started with
Jordan Minor and the men's long jump. Minor, a dual-sport freshman from Prescott, AZ, entered this meet ranked 5th nationally from his performance at the Mesa T-Bird Invitational. Minor jumped consistently in this competition, earning fourth place with a distance of 6.98m.
For the track events,
Monnie Spears-Rogers competed in the finals for the women's 100m. Monnie finished with a time of 12.64.
Hannah White and
Raiven Ellis, OUAZ athletes that had earned All-American titles the previous day, competed again in the Shot Put, Hammer Throw, and Long Jump.
Hannah White threw a 40.75m in the hammer throw earning herself a personal record, and an 11th place finished coming into the meet un-ranked. In the shot put Hannah finished in third place with a distance of 12.57m, reserving her spot as an All-American again.
Raiven Ellis, after earning the national championship in the triple jump yesterday, competed in the women's long jump today. She again had her best jump at her final attempt reaching a distance of 5.39m. Ellis earned a personal record and finished third after coming into this meet un-ranked.
The Spirit complete their outdoor season with one National Champion, two All-Americans, and a well-performing group of athletes.
