Hannah White Named NCCAA Women’s Outdoor Field Student-Athlete of the Week

White earns her first honor of the year, second for the women’s team

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced on Monday afternoon their weekly student-athlete of the week awards. The NCCAA selected OUAZ women's track & field athlete Hannah White, as the NCCAA Women's Outdoor Field Student-Athlete of the Week.

"Hannah (White) exemplifies what it truly means to be a student-athlete at this level," said OUAZ Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Kenny McDaniel. "Hannah is the type of person who strives to reach high marks on and off the playing fields, which is why she is one of our noble leaders for this program."

This award for Hannah White is for her strong performances this past weekend at the UC-Irvine Steve Scott Invitational. On day one, White competed in the Hammer Throw and finished in 27th place against competition from all NCAA Division 1 schools. White's throw went 38.75m.

On day two, Hannah White competed in both the Discus and the Shot Put. White improved her personal record in the Shot Put, with a distance of 12.77m (41' 10.75"); and finished in tenth place. In the Discus Throw, White finished with a throw of 40.63m (133' 3").

The Spirit men's and women's track & field teams are currently preparing for the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, which are set to take place May 10 & 11 at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana.
