Jordan Minor Named NCCAA Men’s Indoor Track & Field POW

Minor earns the first Player of the Week honor in OUAZ Track & Field history

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced on Monday afternoon their weekly winners for Player of the Week honors. The NCCAA selected OUAZ Spirit track & field athlete Jordan Minor, as the NCCAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Player of the Week. This is the first such honor in OUAZ Track & Field history.
 
"This was Jordan's first collegiate meet and he was very consistent with his jumps," said OUAZ head track & field coach Wade Watkins. "Jordan will continue to improve as the year progresses and we are excited to see what he will all accomplish this season."
 
This award for Jordan Minor comes after his finish at the Wichita State Shocker Prelude back on January 11th. Minor competed in both the Long Jump and the 400 Meters, while at the Wichita State Shocker Prelude. In the 400 meters, Minor won his section.
 
In his second competition of the day, Minor took part in the Long Jump. In Flight 2 of the Long Jump, Minor finished in first place with a jump of 6.44 meters. In the Men's Long Jump Final, Minor placed 7th with his highest mark measuring at 6.44 meters.
 
Currently Jordan Minor is ranked 8th in the NCCAA in the Men's Long Jump.
 
The Spirit men and women's track & field teams return to action on Friday January 19th and Saturday January 20th at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational; hosted by the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
