Spirit Continue On Hot Streak with Ninth Win in a Row

Riverside, Calif. — From the first serve to the final point, OUAZ looked every bit like a team in control, cruising to a commanding 3-0 sweep over La Sierra on Friday afternoon.

OUAZ came out firing in set one, hitting an impressive .394 while setting the tone offensively. Horatio Maumasi was nearly unstoppable, finishing with nine kills on just 11 swings for an eye-popping .818 hitting percentage. Every time the Spirit needed a spark, he delivered.

The connection between Madduxx Goron and his hitters was on full display all match long. Goron dished out 39 assists with just one error, orchestrating an offense that hit .415 as a team. It felt like every set was right where it needed to be.

Jack Hubbard added another huge performance with 12 kills, two service aces, and strong all-around play, while Treven Clizbe chipped in 10 kills of his own. The depth of this lineup continues to show—multiple weapons, all capable of taking over at any moment.

Set two brought a bit more resistance from La Sierra, but OUAZ never seemed rattled. Even when the score tightened, the Spirit responded with big-time plays, including a key service run from Hubbard that helped create separation late.

By the third set, the Spirit's control was undeniable. The defense stepped up, the block got more involved (seven total team blocks), and the offense never slowed down. A balanced attack and timely plays sealed the sweep and kept momentum firmly on the Spirit's side.

OUAZ also showed grit on the defensive end, collecting 43 digs and consistently turning defense into offense. It wasn't just about power—it was about discipline and execution.

With the win, OUAZ improves to 15-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play, and performances like this make it clear—they're not just winning, they're clicking at the right time.

And as a fan, that's the best part.
