Spirit Shine in Rivalry Sweep Against Arizona Christian

Surprise, Ariz. — The Spirit delivered a statement win in a rivalry matchup, sweeping Arizona Christian in straight sets with a commanding performance from start to finish. From the opening serve, the Spirit controlled the tempo with efficient offense and a strong presence at the net, closing out the Firestorm in three sets.

Jack Hubbard and Caeden Salmen led the charge offensively, both putting together highly efficient performances. Hubbard set the tone early and remained consistent throughout, while Salmen was nearly perfect on the attack, giving the Spirit a powerful one-two punch. At the net, Treven Clizbe and Maddux Goron played key roles defensively, combining for several crucial blocks to shut down the Firestorm late in the match.

Set 1 was all OUAZ, as the Spirit took control from the very beginning. Hubbard was dominant, recording 5 kills on 7 swings for an impressive .429 hitting percentage, while also adding a service ace. Salmen was flawless, going a perfect 4-for-4 on his attacks to hit 1.000, helping the Spirit cruise through the opening set.

Set 2 brought more of the same, as OUAZ continued to dictate play. Salmen stayed hot with four more kills and added a block assist, while Clizbe made his presence felt at the net with three kills and four block assists, disrupting the Firestorm offense and keeping the momentum firmly on the Spirit's side.

The third set proved to be more competitive, but the Spirit stayed composed to complete the sweep. Hubbard added four more kills to lead the offense, while Clizbe and Goron stepped up defensively in key moments. Clizbe recorded two block assists, and Goron added three block assists, sealing the match at the net as OUAZ secured the rivalry victory.
