Surprise, Ariz. — OUAZ split a doubleheader with Simpson, dropping the opener before delivering a thrilling walk-off victory in game two.

Game 1 - OUAZ 1, Simpson 13

Game one was a tough outing for the Spirit, as the Redhawks set the tone early and never let up. Simpson's offense stayed aggressive throughout the contest, scoring in most innings and building a commanding lead. OUAZ was limited offensively, with the lone run coming on an Alexis Rodriguez double that brought home Savannah Sutton. Despite continued effort, the Spirit were unable to slow Simpson's momentum and fell in the opener.

Game 2 - OUAZ 3, Simpson 2

Game two told a completely different story, turning into a tense, back-and-forth battle that came down to the final inning. Simpson struck first with a run in the opening frame, but OUAZ answered in the third inning. Savannah Sutton ripped a double to score Elysa Moreno, evening the game. Simpson regained the lead with a run in the fifth, setting up a dramatic finish.

The Spirit mounted their comeback in the seventh inning. Ava Seguin delivered a clutch solo home run to tie the game and ignite the crowd. Moments later, Alexis Jimenez hit a blooper toward second base and hustled down the line, diving into first as Elysa Moreno crossed the plate for the walk-off, game-winning run.

OUAZ's resilience in game two secured the split and provided a strong momentum boost moving forward.
