Surprise, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team made a strong impression this evening, powering past Justice University (OVR 2-12) in a commanding 3-0 non-conference game sweep. With the victory, the Spirit improved to 11-2 overall on the season (GSAC 5-1), showcasing their depth and momentum as they continue to build on an impressive season.

Set 1 (25-17): OUAZ began the match with a back and forth battle in the first set, but pulled away late with a 5-0 run and ultimately took the set. Gloria Moye and Kiera Adrian led the way for the Spirit both with three kills, followed by Jessica Pearce with two. Kaiden Raif and Ana Newcomb each added two service aces to the set.

Set 2 (25-18): The Spirit continued their defensive battle going almost point for point with Justice in the second set. The Spirit got caught up toward the end of the set but pulled through for a set two win over the Lions. Lauren Wamsley led the charge with five kills, followed by Moye with three. Daria Kowalik also added three service aces in the winning effort.

Set 3 (25-14): The Spirit continued their fight, pulling away late to take the match with a 3-0 sweep. Charli Cook led the way with four kills including the match point, followed by Wamsley and Jenna Sarff who both added two more kills to their totals. Reegan Shoquist also contributed three service aces in the winning set.

OUAZ continues on the road to Prescott, Ariz. for some GSAC play on Friday, October 3 at 4 p.m. (MST) against Embry-Riddle (AZ). The Spirit will then return home to host the Benedictine Mesa on Saturday, October 4, at 1 p.m. (MST).
