Spirit Sweep Embry-Riddle in Commanding Victory

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team delivered a strong performance on Saturday night, sweeping the Embry-Riddle Eagles in a hard-fought match. The Spirit combined dominant serving, balanced attacking, and clutch play at the net to control all three sets and finish the match with authority.

  • Set 1 (25-16): The Spirit came out firing against the Eagles, setting the tone early with aggressive serving and a balanced attack at the net. Lauren Wamsley and Amey Rainaud each delivered two service aces, keeping the Eagles on their heels. Gloria Moye dominated offensively with six kills, while Delaney Wilson and Jessica Pearce each added three kills to fuel the Spirit's momentum and secure the opening set.

  • Set 2 (25-23): The Eagles controlled much of the second set, holding the lead until the closing moments. But once the Spirit broke through, they never looked back. Rainaud came up clutch at the service line with two aces that shifted the momentum and gave OUAZ the edge. Pearce powered the attack with five kills, while Wilson added two kills to help the Spirit rally late and take the set.

  • Set 3 (25-21): The Spirit carried their momentum into the third set and closed out the match with another strong showing. Kaiden Raif sparked the team with a service ace, while Pearce continued her dominant play at the net with five kills. Wilson and Lauren Wamsley each chipped in three kills, keeping the offense balanced and steady as OUAZ sealed the sweep over the Eagles.

Jessica Pearce had a standout performance, finishing the match with 13 kills and an impressive .591 hitting percentage, a mark that now ranks sixth all-time in OUAZ program history. With this performance, Pearce's career total reaches 612 kills, moving her into second place all-time in school history. Dominant at the net, she combined power and precision to consistently find open spots on the court, anchoring the Spirit's offense and playing a crucial role in the team's sweep over Embry-Riddle.
