Surprise, Ariz. - The OUAZ women's volleyball team returned home to Faith Arena on Saturday and came away with a pair of victories. The Spirit opened the day with a 3-1 win over Simpson before closing out the doubleheader with a sweep of Haskell, 3-0. With the two wins, OUAZ improves to 4-1 on the 2025 season.

The Spirit opened the day with a competitive four-set battle against Simpson, where they battled throughout before pulling away late to earn the win in the end.

Set 1 (25-14): OUAZ controlled the opening set against Simpson, getting four kills from Keira Adrian and three from Gloria Moye, while Lauren Wamsley delivered three consecutive aces to help the Spirit secure the early advantage.

Set 2 (25-17): The Spirit kept their momentum rolling, with Hannah Allman powering the attack with four kills. Wamsley added two aces from the service line, and Anna Newcomb chipped in three more to keep Simpson on the defensive as OUAZ extended its lead.

Set 3 (21-25): OUAZ battled to stay close but came up short as Simpson held on late. Wamsley led the Spirit with four kills in the frame, and Reegan Shoquist chipped in an ace.

Set 4 (25-15): The Spirit closed out the match in dominant fashion, pulling away early behind three kills and an ace from Wamsley. Amey Rainaud and Newcomb each added an ace of their own to cap a strong all-around performance that sealed the 3-1 victory.
