SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Spirit battled through a physical contest on Saturday but came up short, falling 0-3 to Hope International.
The Royals struck early, finding the net in the 2nd minute to take the lead, and added another in the 26th minute to build a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime. The Spirit continued to compete with intensity throughout the match, creating chances late but unable to find the finishing touch. Hope International added a third goal in the 80th minute to seal the result.
Goalkeeper Chloe Avila recorded three saves in the match, a performance that moved her into third all-time in program history with 101 career saves. Despite the loss, the Spirit showed toughness and resilience in a challenging GSAC matchup.
