Surprise, Ariz. – OUAZ Women's Basketball lost a physical battle against The Master's (13-6 OVR, 6-2 GSAC) 75-70. The loss gives the Spirit an overall record of 14-7 on the year, and they are now 4-4 in conference play.
The Spirit's defense had a solid showing, as they held the Mustangs to a 43.8% shooting percentage from the field, 37.5% shooting percentage from three, while forcing 25 turnovers that resulted 25 points for the Spirit. The Spirit's offense played solid as well, shooting 34.2% from the field, and 40% from the three-point line. The free throw line did hurt the Spirit however, missing seven from the line.
Three Spirit players finished with double-digit points, led by Angel Addleman who put who scored 18 points, while adding a steal, five rebounds, and two assists on a 45.5% shooting percentage. OUAZ also got contributions from Cierra Kiser, who had a line of 14 points, and two rebounds, and Charli Cook who had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds on the night.
The Spirit will head to Prescott to finish the week on the road against Embry-Riddle on Saturday, February 1st at 2:30PM (MST).
