RIVERSIDE, CALIF. – Before playing its first GSAC game in California this season, the OUAZ women's volleyball team stopped in Riverside to play a future conference foe on Friday afternoon. The Spirit matched up with La Sierra in the Golden Eagles home gym and took a convincing straight-sets victory away to push its record above .500.

OUAZ was efficient all match long, finishing with 46 kills and a .381 attack percentage. Four different Spirit players who had at least 10 attacks finished with a .430+ or better hit percentage, and the team committed only nine attack errors on 97 attempts.

Lauren Wamsley was spectacular once again, finishing with 14 kills to lead the match. The Arizona native finished with a .429 attack percentage and a .429 attack percentage.

Katy Shockey needed just 11 attacks to finish with nine kills, posting an impressive .818 attack percentage. Jessica Pearce had another great attacking day as well, posting eight kills while also getting a block solo and block assist.

Logan Kuehn and Beatriz Paolinetti were passing the ball well on Friday, as Kuehn led the match with 20 assists while Paolinetti finished right behind with 19. Amey Rainaud had 11 digs as the Spirit dominated in most statistical categories.

OUAZ will get right back on the court Saturday when they face The Master's in a faceoff between two teams undefeated at the top of the GSAC standings. First serve from Santa Clarita is set for 1 p.m.
