Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

First Conference Loss of Season Comes in Four Sets

SANTA CLARTIA, CALIF. – Coming off a convincing win on Friday, the OUAZ women's volleyball team matched up with The Master's to see who would keep its record unbeaten in GSAC play. The Spirit stayed close with the streaking Mustangs, but The Master's would take the four-sets victory as OUAZ was defeated for the first time in nearly a month.

After grabbing multi-point leads in the first and fourth sets, the Spirit were unable to hold off Mustang charges and would drop each set. The two teams battled hard at the end of what would be the final set, but OUAZ was unable to find 25 points before its opponent and could not extend the match.

Kiera Adrian put together a solid afternoon, getting 12 kills and posting a .321 attack percentage. Lauren Wamsley had 10 kills for the third consecutive match, plus her and Adrian contributed eight digs each.

Jessica Pearce had another great match at the net, finishing with seven kills and three blocks, including two solo blocks. Logan Kuehn had 21 assists to go with a pair of block assists, and Amey Rainaud led the match with 29 digs.

The Spirit will return home for a pair of matches inside of Faith Arena as conference play rolls on. First serve against Hope International on Thursday, Oct. 3 is set for 6 p.m.
