SURPRISE, ARIZ. – A day after a thrilling comeback to win in five sets, the OUAZ women's volleyball team had the opportunity to complete the same feat against Carroll College. The Spirit and the Saints traded momentum all throughout the fourth set, but OUAZ was unable to extend the match and fell 3-1.
Friday was another productive contest for Lauren Wamsley, who finished with her fifth consecutive double-double to start the season. Wamsley finished with 14 kills and 12 digs while also pitching in an assist and a service ace.
Jessica Pierce had an efficient attacking night, recording 12 kills on just 21 attacks (.476 ATK%). Kiera Adrian made the most of her attacking opportunities, recording six kills on a .308 hitting percentage.
Four different Spirit players finished with double-digit dig totals as the team racked up 95 as a group. Amey Rainaud led the way with 24 digs, plus Kaiden Raif totaled 23 while also dishing out a team-leading 26 assists.
OUAZ will play the final game of its invitational on Saturday when they host Montana Western. First serve from Faith Arena is set for 1 p.m.
