SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The OUAZ women's volleyball team wrapped up its invitational on Saturday against 15th-ranked Montana Western, getting a test against one of the NAIA's best teams. At times the Spirit played spectacularly with the Bulldogs, but eventually fell in straight sets.
OUAZ had a great day defensively at the net, racking up nine blocks as a team and seeing at least five players rack up a block assist. Katy Shockey led the way with six block assists while Keira Adrien, Jessica Pierce, Jenna Sarff and Kaylani Reis tallied at least two. Amey Rainaud led the team once again in digs, totaling 20 of the Spirits 60 total digs.
The next time the Spirit will hit the court will be for GSAC play against new conference member Embry-Riddle on Friday, Sept. 13. First serve from inside Faith Arena is set for 6 p.m.
