Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dominating Performance Leads to Season's Second Straight Victory

PORTLAND, ORE. – On the same day the OUAZ women's soccer team moved up three spots to No. 18 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, the Spirit showed why it is one of the top teams in the country. OUAZ scored a goal in each half, and took away a 2-0 victory over Warner Pacific on Tuesday night.

Amanda Witkowski got the scoring started early, putting the ball across the goal line in the 16th minute. After dominating the first half, the Spirit turned up the pressure and would double its lead on a Harlee Kuntz tally in the 56th minute.

After taking four shots in the opening 45 minutes, the Spirit would take seven more in the second half as they tightened its hold on the game. All but one shot attempt landed on target for OUAZ while the Spirit would not allow Warner Pacific to get even one shot attempt off.

"The game went really well; it showed us how much we have improved as a team," Kuntz said. "We found a lot of balls through the seams, we were very composed, completed a lot of good passes, had most of the possession, and finished our chances."

The Spirit will play one more contest in Oregon, heading south to Monmouth for a matchup against NCAA D2 Western Oregon.
