Winters, Durazo Named NCCAA All-Americans

With the most successful season in program history wrapped up, two more individual award came across for OUAZ. First Baseman Joey Winters was named to the NCCAA All-American Second Team, while Outfielder Daniel Durazo was named to the NCCAA All-American Third Team.

Winters was a consistent force all season long at first base, both at the plate and in the field. Winters put together a .986 OPS in 51 games, with 52 RBI (fourth in the GSAC) and leading the entire conference in walks with 41.

Winters was also amazing defensively, earning a GSAC Gold Glove. His .995 fielding percentage is best among conference players with at least 175 fielding chances, and finished second in the GSAC in total chances with 387.

Durazo led the Spirit with a .335 batting average and complied an .866 OPS. He also drove in a team leading 48 runs to power a great OUAZ offense.

Durazo found himself among the GSAC elites in many categories, ranking top 10 in the conference in hits (68), doubles (14), triples (2), and RBI (48). He also had a pair of home runs, and finished the year with 92 total bases.

This is the fifth consecutive year the Spirit have had at least one player on a NCCAA All-American team. Winters was a Third Team NCCAA All-American selection in 2023, and 2024 marks the first appearance for Durazo.
