Spirit Have Strong Showing in Home Opener to Boost Winning Streak to Three

Surprise, ARIZ. – The OUAZ Women's basketball got their first home win of the season and boosted their winning streak to three games after defeating first-year program Nobel University (1-2), 80-52. The win puts the Spirit at 3-0 on the season.

The Spirit put on a defensive display, forcing the Knights to shoot 28% from the field, and only 15% from the three-point line. OUAZ's offense dominated the paint with 42 points and would get major contributions from the bench with 44 points. The Spirit would also take advantage of their strong defensive performance, scoring 24 points off of turnovers.

Three Spirit players finished with double-digit points, led by Angel Addleman (18pts, 8 rebounds, on 78% shooting). Tiana Sledge added to the winning effort (12pts, 9 rebounds, and a block). OUAZ also got key contributions from Makayla Holthaus, who had 10 rebounds, 11pts, a steal, and a block on the day.

OUAZ will head back on the road as they head to The Lone Star State face off against Dallas Christian (2-1) on Thursday, November 7th at 4:30pm MST. They will finish up the week on the road against Nelson Texas (1-1), on Saturday, November 9th at 1pm MST.
