OUAZ Finishes Weekend With Split

PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The GSAC playoff race continued to heat up as the OUAZ women's volleyball team took the court against another top-four team on Saturday. After its big five-set win at home, the Spirit dropped its match up north at Embry-Riddle.

The Spirit offense had a hard time getting going, but they did finish with 31 kills and a positive attack percentage. OUAZ played hard defensively as well, having 51 digs to the Eagles' 46.

Jessica Pearce had another efficient day, leading the team with 11 kills and posting a .296 attack percentage. The other middle blocker, Katy Shockey, had an efficient day as well, getting six kills on just nine attacks.

Amey Rainaud led the team in digs once again, this time with 12 as Lauren Wamsley was right behind her with 11. Pearce also pitched in defensively, finishing with a block solo and two block assists.

The Spirit will take its final trip outside of Arizona for the regular season when they play Hope International and Life Pacific. The first contest will be on Friday in Fullerton.
