Surprise, ARIZ.- The Spirit were shut out at the hands of #21 Hope International (11-1-1 Overall, 8-0-1 Conference) in the 3-0 loss. The loss puts the Spirit at 5-5-3 on the year and 3-4-2 in conference play.
Hope International would start fast with a goal in the 2nd minute of the game by Brandi Valdez (First on the Season), assisted by Jordan Galvin and Christiane Sundstrom. The Royals would add another one just a few minutes later in the 6th minute of play by Christiane Sundstrom (16th on the Season), assisted Ryley Candelario. That would conclude the first-half scoring as the Spirit would only get three shots the entire first half.
The second half would be a defensive battle as both teams would be shut down with minimal shots on goal until the 76th minute of the game. The goal was scored by Kalia Lanoza (First on the Season), assisted by Keyla Fragoso. That would end the games scoring as the Spirit would be shut in the loss. Chloe Avila had three saves on the day.
