TWO SPIRIT RUSHERS GO OVER 100 YARDS IN DOMINANT VICTORY

Playing at home for the first time in over a month, the OUAZ football team soundly beat Wayland Baptist 59-6 on a night where the Spirit recorded nearly 600 yards of total offense and allowed just 233 yards (28 rushing) and two field goals.

The 25th-ranked Spirit, now 4-1 overall and 3-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference action, racked up its third straight win and outscored its opponents 173-30 during this stretch.

OUAZ was led by quarterback Luke Giron, who connected on 20 out of 25 passes for 346 yards and five touchdowns. His favorite targets on the night were Jeremiah Wright (five catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns) and Da'Vicious Wilson (six catches for 98 yards and one score).

On the ground, the Spirit dynamic duo of Stephen Bradford and Jordan Wilmore amassed 234 yards on 31 carries and two touchdowns. It's the second time in the last three games that OUAZ has had two running backs top 100 yards rushing in the same game. For Bradford (119 yards and a TD), it was the third straight game he surpassed the century mark and had at least one TD on the ground.

Defensively, the Spirit limited the WBU offense to just three drives of eight plays or more on the night and recorded four second half interceptions to put OUAZ in the position to score 38 unanswered points.
