On the first day of the Northwest Iowa National Invite, the OUAZ golf teams sit in second for the Men and third for the Women. Both fields have 12 teams competing at Willow Creek Golf Club in Le Mars, Iowa (Par 71).
The men are just three strokes off the lead, set by MidAmerica Nazarene, at +10.
Kolby Shackelford is in second place individually at even par 142. Colby Unruth for MidAmerica Nazarene, shot an amazing five-under in the first round. He came back to Earth shooting just one-under in the second round of the day.
OUAZ's
Colby Watkins is in a logjam at +1 in third place. Gustav Sandstorm is just one shot back at +2.
The women's team is a ways back in third place. Keiser University leads the field with a 569 (-7) through two rounds.
Taylor Wilczek is tied for fourth at 148 (+4). Jolie Wong of Keiser University shot a 139 (-5) to lead the tournament.
Maddi Shoults for OUAZ is just eight shots out of a medal spot.
The tournament will conclude with a single round on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
