The OUAZ Spirit women's volleyball team put up a fight in their first game of the 2023 OUAZ Invitational against Lewis-Clark State College out of Idaho. But sadly, they came out on the short end of a five-set thriller inside Faith Arena.
Rylie Henige led the Spirit (0-2) with 12 kills.
Sharron Wallace (11) and
Kaia Nowlin-Chaffino (10) also joined her in the double-figure club.
Cristal Carrizoza (26) and
Gracie Johnson (18) had the majority of the assists on the night. While
Kenzie Kuxhaus (36) and
Reannan Bihlmeier (11) where the only members of the team to get double digit digs.
As a team, the Spirit out-hit LCSC (1-1) .168 to .127.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday. Lewis-Clark State will take on Montana Western (who defeated Arizona Christian earlier on Thursday) at 11:30 a.m., then the Bulldogs will turn right around and take on OUAZ at 2:00 p.m. Later in the night, OUAZ will take on Montana State University – Northern at 7:00 p.m.
