Surprise, Arizona - OUAZ Baseball (9-7-1) dropped their two games Wednesday afternoon to kick off the Tucson Invitational.
In the first game, they lost a close one 7-9 to their familiar opponent Park Gilbert, and then lost a tough matchup versus Morningside, 7-18.
GAME ONE
The offense had the bats going, tallying 24 total hits on the day, with 12 in each game, but it still was not enough to prevail.
Nicholas Lustig and Jaimen Albizu each nabbed the multi-hit games in the Spirit lineup against Park. Sergio Alfaro and Albizu both slapped RBI doubles.
GAME TWO
Sweet swinging lefties, Justin Brodt and Joey Winters each belted their first homers in this contest but it beared no weight with the eruption from the Morningside batters.
Daniel Partida reaches base safely three times with just many hits, and is now hitting .519 on the year with 27 at-bats in 15 games played.
