After months of planning, roster building and practice, the OUAZ STUNT team finally took to the mat and ushered in a new era of Spirit Athletics. The Spirit hosted two days of competition with teams from Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University and Arizona Christian, and while the results may not make for a perfect start (OUAZ beat ACU but lost to ASU and GCU), it's clear that the foundation is solid.

"I am so proud of the team," said head coach Whitney Savage.  "They exceeded expectations throughout the weekend and nailed the routines we performed every time. This team has faced so many obstacles this year so to come away with a win is something we as a team are proud of."

Freshmen Mary O'Sullivan, Yanni Martinez, Jaylee Story and Kaylee Love were the Spirit MVP's from the weekend with an overall power rating of 0.741.
