Savage Chosen as Head Coach of OUAZ STUNT Program

SURPRISE, Ariz. – OUAZ has chosen Whitney Savage as the first head coach of the OUAZ STUNT program, Assistant Athletic Director Brittney Kellar announced on Friday.

"I am thrilled to have Whitney on board to start our STUNT program," Kellar said about Savage. "It was evident during the interview process that her experience in the sport, along with her passion for the Lord, would be a perfect fit for our university and this new program. I look forward to watching her make OUAZ history as she starts this journey."

Savage joins OUAZ from Concordia Ann Arbor, where she was a graduate assistant for the Cardinals' cheer & dance programs. At CUAA, Savage worked closely with the STUNT and competitive NAIA coed teams while assisting with recruiting. During her time on the staff, Concordia won two conference titles.

"I'm excited to be joining the Ottawa family and getting the chance to work with a great staff," Savage said when asked about accepting the position. "I look forward to the journey ahead, and I can't wait to put OUAZ on the map for STUNT. My hope is that building this team will bring God praise and build a community of strong women who will do great things in this world."

A decorated student-athlete during her time on the Concordia Ann Arbor cheer team, Savage won an NAIA National Championship and two WHAC championships while twice being named to the all-conference team. She was a two-time selection to the All-Academic Team and received the WHAC Champion of Character and NAIA Champion of Character awards as a senior.

Savage majored in Sports and Entertainment Business with a minor in Coaching from CUAA. Savage then earned her Master's in Communications & Public Relations from Concordia.
