Kratchman Elevated to Director of STUNT and Spirit Program

SURPRISE, Ariz. – To accommodate the launch of the STUNT program, OUAZ has promoted Kari Kratchman to the Director of STUNT and Spirit Program. In her new role, Kratchman will oversee all of the Spirit Programs at the University.

"The success of our cheer & dance programs both in competition and in the classroom since Kari took over made her the logical choice to oversee all of our Spirit programs with the addition of STUNT in the fall," OUAZ Assistant Athletics Director Brittney Kellar said. "With her leadership, enthusiasm, and vast knowledge of cheer, dance, and STUNT, she will oversee the expansion of these programs as we continue to provide new opportunities for our student-athletes. It is a privilege to watch her take this next step with our programs."

Since being named head coach of the cheer & dance programs in 2019, Kratchman has guided the Spirit to five United Cheer Association College Nationals titles. They are coming off a strong showing in their first appearance at the NCA/NDA College Nationals in Daytona, Fla.

Kratchman added, "I am super excited for the opportunity to move into the role of Director of Spirit Programs! Being able to continue to work with collegiate athletes in all three capacities will be incredible. I truly look forward to our teams' continued growth, and we will continue to strive for amazing successes that lay in front of us."

The recruiting process for all the OUAZ Spirit Programs is underway. The final Tryout Prep Clinic is scheduled for April 23, with tryouts taking place on May 6-8. Email kari.kratchman@ottawa.edu for more information.
