SURPRISE, Ariz. – The OUAZ Spirit (12-5, 5-3) picked up a fast and easy win against GSAC opponent Hope International (3-14, 0-9), finishing with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-17.
In their fifth conference win of the year, and eighth program win against the Royals, the Spirit finished sets with their third and fourth highest point differential of the season, solidifying their speedy win.
The Spirit were hot on defense, holding the Royals to a .169 hitting percentage with only 27 successful kills, tacking on five blocks, including a match winning block by Corey Johnson and Xavier Connelly.
Though they were far from their season high, the Spirit still tallied 39 kills, 17 more than their opponent, with Addah Nestor (8), Blake Music (7) and Quiad King (5) leading the pack.
With big leads presenting themselves, the Spirit were able to give minutes to some new faces. Ka'imi Kealoha, Xavier Connelly and Corey Johnson all saw time on the court for only the third or fourth time this season.

The Spirit Men's Volleyball team will conclude their regular season next week, taking on two conference opponents and a non-conference opponent before heading into GSAC Championship play held at Faith Arena. Next week's first matchup will be a rivalry one against Arizona Christian on Wednesday, March 22 at 6:00 PM.
