Surprise, Arizona - OUAZ baseball (11-11-1) dropped their series opener against San Diego Christian (4-19) Friday afternoon by the score of 10-9.
Evan Massie was tabbed as the Spirit starter, but struggled in five innings of work allowing six runs. Trey Trimble earned the loss later in the game after relieving Kanopo Rawlins.
Once again, the OUAZ lineup stayed hot with the sticks, knocking in nine runs on 13 hits. They also drew seven walks.Â
The two team leader's in RBI's, Nicholas Lustig and Nathan Tarver each logged three hits on the day. Lustig drove in three while Tarver plated two runs of his own. Sergio Alfaro slapped two doubles while knocking in just many.
The Spirit will aim to bounce back and close out the series in San Diego with a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 am PST.
